There is something truly enchanting about the Night Lights display at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill. This year, I had the incredible opportunity to bring a new perspective to this luminous event through aerial photography.
Every winter, the New England Botanic Garden transforms into a radiant wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights adorning the landscape. This year, I took to the skies with my drone to capture the sprawling beauty of the display from above. From this elevated viewpoint, the garden’s intricate light designs came to life in a way that’s nearly impossible to grasp from the ground.
Shooting at night presented its own set of challenges. The low light required precise adjustments to shutter speed and ISO to ensure clarity while avoiding overexposure from the brightest lights. Balancing these settings while managing the drone’s stability and position was a rewarding technical challenge that brought out the best of my skills.
The final images showcase the Night Lights display in all its glory, highlighting the garden’s creative vision and its celebration of the holiday season. Whether you’re a longtime visitor or experiencing the magic for the first time, these aerial perspectives offer a fresh way to appreciate this annual event.
